For a long time, America’s favorite automotive brand has been Ford. And, it seems that preference is true among our military men and women, too. In a recent survey of military personnel, using data from the United Services Automobile Association’s (USAA) car buying service, it was discovered that our military loves Ford and the F-150, in particular.
For 41 years, the F-150 has been America’s best-selling truck and has been the best-selling vehicle for 36. With that reputation, it is not a surprise that military men and women love the F-150. Jimmy Spears, auto analyst for USAA, said the F-150 was the No. 1 vehicle purchased across all branches of the military last year.
“We are proud and humbled that those who protect and defend our country choose Ford F-Series,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager. “F-150’s high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body is designed to serve customers who are used to performing in the harshest of environments and who rely on the capability, durability, and functionality delivered consistently by Built Ford Tough.”
The 2018 Ford F-150, which you can find here at Corwin Ford of Springfield, is the best F-150 ever. This year, it boasts an improved engine lineup, updated styling, and enhanced safety options.

The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in the US for decades, so it’s certainly no surprise that the F-150 is raking in awards left and right. Most recently, the pickup earned the 2018 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award for the fifth time. With power, selection, and intelligence, it’s easy to see why the F-150 stands out among the competition.
The judges at Motor Trend considered multiple features, including design, engineering, safety, value, efficiency and performance. According to Ford, the XL, Lariat, Platinum, and Raptor were each tested and judged against the competition. This most recent Ford F-150 award is just one among many
“Back-to-back wins for F-150 and Super Duty reflect what we’re also seeing and hearing from customers as we celebrate 40 straight years as America’s favorite and best-selling trucks,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and president, North America. “The Ford Truck team stretched further than ever to deliver our toughest, most capable and smartest trucks.”
The judges noted that the F-150 has an impressive overall towing capacity—great for any pickup driver—and advanced technology functionality. Plus, the Raptor was noted for its great off-road capabilities. To test drive the new F-150, visit Corwin Ford of Springfield today.
